About

A travel guide to Manila and the Philippines, written from inside Metro Manila.

What you will find here

Editorial guides to the Philippine capital and the country beyond. The focus is Manila and the easy day trips around it: Tagaytay, Pampanga, Corregidor. The cluster grows outward as new pieces drop.

Every hotel listed has been checked against its current public listing. Every restaurant has been eaten at. Every viewpoint described has been seen. The writing is first-person and opinionated. If a place is overrated I say so. If a tourist trap is dressed up as a must-see, I name it.

How the affiliate links work

A handful of links on the site, mostly Booking.com and a few tour partners, pay a small commission if you book through them. Those commissions cover the hosting bill and keep the writing independent. The recommendations are not influenced by the commission rates.

Where to start

If you have a Manila trip on the calendar, open Manila in Three Days first. If you are still picking your dates, the Things to Do guide gives you the shape. If you already know you want a beach day or a food day, the Day Trips hub has the comparison.
